Export contacts from Mailchimp and move them in
Drop in the Mailchimp ZIP: columns, statuses and unsubscribes carry over. 2:17, recorded on a real SendBunny install.
In short
Mailchimp exports your audience as one ZIP file. In SendBunny, open Audience, press Import contacts, choose Mailchimp and drop the ZIP in as it is. Columns SendBunny knows are matched for you, and anything new waits until you choose where it goes. Anyone who unsubscribed stays unsubscribed, bounced addresses stay blocked, nobody is emailed during the move, and you can download a receipt of exactly what happened. Your list then lives in your own AWS account: SendBunny never sees it, so it can't be shared or sold behind your back.

Coming from another email tool? Good news, your list comes with you. On Audience, press Import contacts, then pick the tool your list is in today. We'll use Mailchimp.
SendBunny shows you exactly how to get your list out of that tool. Mailchimp gives you one ZIP file. Just drop it in as it is, and the four files inside find their own rows.
Next, your columns. SendBunny has already matched the ones it knows, like email, name and company. Give each row a quick look. Anything new stays out until you decide where it goes. Total spent is new, so we'll make a number field for it, right from the menu.
Then their status: what each word from your old tool becomes here. Someone who unsubscribed there stays unsubscribed here. An unsubscribe never turns back into a yes.
The check screen shows who's moving in: who'll get your emails, who stays unsubscribed, who's blocked because their address bounced, and who's left out, and why. Preview a person to see exactly how they'll look.
A quick word on statuses, since every tool words them differently. Subscribed people get your emails. Waiting to confirm means they signed up but haven't clicked the link yet. Never subscribed is someone who never agreed to marketing, like a customer who only bought from you. Unsubscribed people asked to stop, and we keep them so they're never emailed by mistake. And blocked means the address bounced, or they marked you as spam. Mailchimp calls those cleaned.
Choose the list they join. We'll make a new one called Customers. Then press Move in.
Done. Everyone's on the list, nobody was emailed, and you can download a receipt of exactly what happened.
Ever signed up somewhere, and then got emails from companies you'd never heard of? Email addresses get passed along. Your subscribers trusted you with theirs. Here, your list lives in your own AWS account. We never see it, so it can't be shared or sold behind your back. Only you decide who gets an email.
Seen enough? Start free, in your own AWS account.
SendBunny Free is yours for life. Premium adds the marketing tools for $199 once. It runs in your own AWS account, and you pay Amazon about $0.10 per 1,000 emails.
