In short
Click anyone to open their page: their details, lists, subscriptions and every email they have had, with the answer to whether you can email them right at the top. Make as many lists as you like. Fields hold what you know about each person: the basics are built in, you can add your own, and any field goes into an email with its merge tag. Segments and topics come with Premium.

Your lists are here too. Make as many as you like: customers, newsletter readers, people from an event.
Fields are what you know about each person, like their plan, city or birthday. The basics are built in, and you can add your own, like the Total spent field we just made. Put any field in an email with its merge tag.
